 This month really has been FebruAIry, hasn't it?  ICYMI: The Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Experience , run by an "event" company, was an incredibly odd disappointment that happened in Glasgow, Scotland last week. The lush and wonderful treats promised were not in attendance, upsetting guests young and old. So you must be asking, why is this here? On a tech portfolio? Because I'm here to ask; How did this fool so many people? I don't blame the people who paid for this (Not totally): Some are parents who needed a fun activity for their families. Others just wanted to see a cool world and burn an hour or so. It's making us laugh all over the world. However, there were plenty of reasons to believe this wasn't up to snuff. I put a key into the ignition, the CD player keeps eating my alt-pop-rock CDs, it gets me from here to there, and I like it. My next car will be the same, sans CD-eating. But! Other people's cars have computers, and sometimes I have to work on the computer parts.

Just like last year, I wasn't there. But it was certainly fun to see the variety of technology on show through the great reporting done by a variety of people (CNET, TechRepublic, Verge, BizJournal, ZDNet, even Variety). Power to The Players with Sony's Playstation 5 : 20 Years ago, the PS2 was released worldwide. Now, Sony is back at it again. The PS5 is scheduled for Holiday 2020, with an SSD and 3D audio. The concept looks more like a plane with a lot of propellers than any kind of flying car you can imagine. Hyundai are calling them "electric vertical takeoff and landing" aircraft. Uber will start testing in Dallas and Los Angeles in 2023, because maybe there will be less smog in LA then.

While the mall won't return, instead opting for 2 department stores, a Planet Fitness, and a movie theater you have to enter through a back alley, other places nearby are being remodeled after extensive damage from Hurricane Michael. The Books A Million is beautiful and the Target is sleek and modern. A lot of blue metal and wood. The Panera has also followed suit. It's a shame it took a Category 5 storm to drag the city into the 21st Century, but better late than never. I'm happy for them, and will be even happier when I am living in another city. Remodels can't fix a mismatch of opportunity. Today is Panera's day. Gone is the charmingly late 90's decor, jumping 2 decades in 2 weeks with sleek, white rustic touches, a lot of glass, and a lot of natural light. I dig it.

I was 7 in 2000, and probably bought this at a Scholastic Book Fair, as it includes 2 things I love to this day - Computers and rodents. This thing is almost 20 years old, and I've kept it all that time.

The many, many people offering advice all normally say the same thing; Where do you want to go? Anywhere but here. What companies or industries do you want to work for? Those listed in this post. What do you want to do with your skills? Can you believe it, they are also listed in this post! I just thought about talking about it. I'm not here to make 100k a year, that comes with too much responsibility, and my mental well-being is not worth sacrificing for your profit. Simply put, here are three industries I would like to work in.
