 This month really has been FebruAIry, hasn't it?  ICYMI: The Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Experience , run by an "event" company, was an incredibly odd disappointment that happened in Glasgow, Scotland last week. Because I'm here to ask; How did this fool so many people? I don't blame the people who paid for this (Not totally): Some are parents who needed a fun activity for their families. I put a key into the ignition, the CD player keeps eating my alt-pop-rock CDs, it gets me from here to there, and I like it. My next car will be the same, sans CD-eating. But! Other people's cars have computers, and sometimes I have to work on the computer parts.

 It's a blogging platform -- As you know (Well, as you know now ), I have been looking for places to export all of this to another platform, one with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and modern editing capabilities that is actually maintained by its owners. Just like last year, I wasn't there. But it was certainly fun to see the variety of technology on show through the great reporting done by a variety of people (CNET, TechRepublic, Verge, BizJournal, ZDNet, even Variety). While the mall won't return, instead opting for 2 department stores, a Planet Fitness, and a movie theater you have to enter through a back alley, other places nearby are being remodeled after extensive damage from Hurricane Michael. The Books A Million is beautiful and the Target is sleek and modern. A lot of blue metal and wood. The Panera has also followed suit. It's a shame it took a Category 5 storm to drag the city into the 21st Century, but better late than never. I'm happy for them, and will be even happier when I am living in another city. Remodels can't fix a mismatch of opportunity. Today is Panera's day. I was 7 in 2000, and probably bought this at a Scholastic Book Fair, as it includes 2 things I love to this day - Computers and rodents. This thing is almost 20 years old, and I've kept it all that time.
