Quick Specs, so we can get down to the Manager:
- Ubuntu Server
- 1 Availability Zone (You can now select multiple)
- No accelerated networking
Here's what it looks like when we have a compatible VM; Some of them aren't yet compatible with Update Manager;
Here is the configuration and schedule setter.
And when confirmed, it appears at the bottom of the 'Create a maintenance configuration' screen;
Update schedule in Azure Update Manager set! But you have to hit Review + Create below to save it.
Under All resources, we can see this;
(It says 'BiWeekly' [the name of the configuration], Maintenance Configuration ,Resource Group: Home)
But the actual deployment setting failed for some reason. Not to worry, since this exists, lets see if I can put the resource in the group of the deployment schedule. Not to be confused with resource group.
If you click the name and go to 'resources' in the left pane, you see the add button;
The Region (Central US) doesn't appear to be supported. As of this writing, 12 2023, I wonder if this tool just got out of beta.
Let's try with a straight up Windows VM (moving quickly as to not incur a cost).
